Emotions stirred at Pane Vino

The close knit Uni friends group gathered together last night to remember all the fond moments they had shared over the years, as David prepares to head over to the UK early next week.

David Chappell?

As usual Davo, the frontmen of the group, provided humour with remarks that only he could get away with. But it was the reading of a poem he had written that touched his friends hearts last night. He spoke of the friendship that he had with everyone there and provided a picture of himself for his friends to put by their bedside tables.

Geronimo Dave, was touched by the enormous effort his friends put into making a book which chronicled the many moments of their lives together. In the book were saved email conversations, photos from events over the years, even a copy of his 21st birthday invitiation. A book full of memories.

To top the evening off, Cath and Grant brought a Polaroid camera (the original digital – someone was heard saying). There were many cool photos taken, but it was the camera operator that was the coolest (Ice Cold). His snapshotting skills and photo delivery were outstanding.

It was an emotional evening that touched my heart. Seeing the strength of the friendships between each person in this group was truly inspiring.

If you want to catch up with Davo, he is heading out for more drinks this evening from 4pm at Irish Murphy’s (cnr Elizabeth and George St Brisbane).
