Sticky stuck in sticky situation

Earlier today, well known celebrity “P. Sticky” was apprehended by Agent Bender from CTU . It is believed that Mr. Stickfly was involved in a terrorist plot that was to be executed late this afternoon.

The takedown occured at 4:45pm AEST when Agent Bender confronted P. Sticky in a busy intersection. It is believed that Sticky was attempting to plant a weaponized viral bomb in a nearby train station.

Upon his arrest, P. Sticky had only this to say “I’m just trying to do what is right for my country. Vote stickfly.”

P. Sticky is a familiar face to millions of internet users who regularly read his website hoping to find out about his latest girlfriend, starring movie role or even what he had for breakfast. When asked what it was about P. Sticky that that makes him so alluring? A reader responded, “I guess it is just the fact that he is so handsome and he laughs at fear. A real man with a great sense of humour. Plus he has enormous national pride. I really like that in a man.”

What drives an adored member of the Australian public to turn rotten? Hopefully we’ll have an answer for you when we talk to P. Sticky after his court arraignment tommorow. Stay Tuned.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Gerrod and Kristy dragged me along to see the third Harry Potter film installment last night. I was pleasantly surprised and found it thoroughly enjoyable. A huge improvement over the earlier two films.

A new director was on board this time round and he brought some welcome improvements to the storytelling experience. This movie’s pace was perfect, not dwelling on unimportant aspects of the book. The acting has also improved (with exception of the Ron Weasly actor – he’s crap).

I suppose I am a big kid but I thoroughly enjoyed it – especially the dementors (evil cold beings).

How to grow a company

IDT, the company I work for have decided to hire a new General Manager.

His introduction speech to the whole company on Monday was a little, let’s just say, uninspiring with quotes like:

  • “You can fool me once, You can fool me twice, but the third time I’m nobody’s fool.”
  • “I’ve cut my salary in half to take this job.”
  • “The last 5 years I have been in the window dressing business.” – ie. Curtain Salesman

He has never worked in the I.T. industry nor has he worked in the Financial Services industry. These are IDT’s core industries. Having said that, today he inspired more confidence in the crew when he said –

“I don’t know I.T. but I don’t know what’s on the inside of a golf ball either, and I can play golf well… well, reasonably”

All I can say is holy crap.

Car Service

Little Mirage got her 3rd service today – the big 30 klm one. This involved the usual checks plus she got her feet pampered by having her tyres rotated and aligned. What a lucky girl!

Just a reminder out there for all people thinking of purchasing a car -

“They aren’t just for christmas, they are for life”.

This service cost me $299.70. Hurts the old hip pocket but my little baby now runs like a dream.

Stickfly.com Achieves 100th Post

Hi everyone. This is my 100th blog entry. Yay!! stickfly.com has come along way since it’s initial days. It is something I’m pretty proud of. I have learnt an awful lot about html development and standards, improved my photoshopping skills and even encouraged my friends to develop blogs too.

Just waiting on Karl (from IDT) and Andrew (old mate Oracle developer) to start their own blogs.

Not much of a 100th entry however as today as I am in pain. I’ve done my back in somehow plus I have a cold </whinge>
