iPod woes

If possible, purchase one of these babies.Apple iPods are way cool when they work. I’ve just sent back my second faulty unit and I’m beginning to lose faith in this nifty little gadget.

Two weeks ago I turned on my iPod to find that the screen had died. It no longer displayed any information making it difficult to play any songs. So I ended up on Apple’s iPod site submitting a support request to get my iPod replaced.

On Friday I received my replacement iPod and was eager to pump some tunes through it only to find that the replacement unit was also broken. This time it would only play 2 seconds of any given song before resetting.

I just came back from Australia Post and hope Apple will at least test the iPod they send this time. Maybe if I’m lucky they might feel sorry for about their lack-luster service and send me a newer colour model that displays photos :)

Heat woes

Air ConditionerI don’t know if anyone else saw the estimated temperatures for Australia tomorrow but it looks like we are in for a stinker – especially Sydney.

Now that my nice comfy office job is no longer, I find that I slowly melt throughout the day until my legs can no longer support me.

So in preperation for tomorrow’s heat wave I thought I would research how an air conditioner works. This way I can dream about the cool air I could be getting if my landlord wasn’t so tight fisted.

michelles-feetWhy the ugly feet you ask? Cos they’re special coconut-smelling, soaked, exfoliated, massaged, warm-paraffin-infused feet, thanks to the day spa pampering Ben arranged for my birthday.

After giving me an awesome new watch he picked all by himself, i was treated to lunch at Bulimba, followed by “Decadence for your feet”.

Thanks Benji. I’ve had the most wonderful day.

Steel spirit

Joe and Michelle SteelTo celebrate Michelle and her brother Joe’s birthdays this week we headed out to the Spirit House at Yandina.

It was an enchanting place with the most amazing thai style setting. When you arrive you wander through a forest lit by lanterns, along paths lined with thai statues. The restaurant is a series of private tables set around a lake.

We were fortunate enough to have one of the more secluded settings and enjoyed a delicious banquet of thai dishes. It was really lovely to have ducks swim past and to hear the noises of the local wildlife as we spoiled ourselves.

I highly recommend making the trip up to the “Spirit House” whenever you next get the chance. It is a lovely place to take your partner on a date.

Pizza Pizza Pizza

A Michelle Vella PizzaI’ve decided that I can significantly increase my nett income if I open my own pizzeria. I could then consume all the pizza my belly would allow and write it all off as a tax expense.

In the last two weeks I have consumed pizza on at least 5 occasions. It seems to be the lazy-mans easiest option when it comes to preparing dinner. At its easiest it’s only a phone call away and at its hardest, it is a couple of ingredients and 10 minutes in the oven.

I can’t resist this stuff. If only fine dining like we experience at Pat’s was so easy.
