Sympathy pain

Have you ever found yourself feeling itchy after someone near your starts scratching? Or do you find that your throat starts tickling when someone starts coughing? I experience this kind of thing all the time.

Some people might see it as a form of Hypochondria but I like to think of it as Sympathy Pain.

Leading up to Michelle’s Wisdom teeth operation I have noticed that my mouth started to deteriorate. I have an ulcer/cut on the inside of my mouth where my wisdom teeth used to be and my throat has been rather sore too. I know my woes are nothing compared to Michelle’s, I just thought that it was an interesting coincidence.

I’d like to think I’m not a hypochondriac but maybe I am. Have you ever felt this way?

Wisdom teeth

Michelle has her wisdom teeth out today. So to “celebrate“, this morning we are having a crunchy breakfast of Cornflakes, Peaches and Cream.

I’ll post the before/after photos later today.

UPDATE: There will be no before/after photos. I should have got permission before saying that.

Weekend Wrap Up

I had a wonderful weekend.

  • After finishing work Friday I came home to lovely prawn noodle dinner that Michelle had cooked for me. It was delicious.
  • Saturday, I visited my grandparents out at Petrie and then Michelle and I visited her wonderful friend Tina at Gatton. Then we rocked up to Pat and Suhail’s place with Kristy and Gerrod for a magnificent dinner.
  • Sunday, I caught up with my friends Katie and Scott for a coffee and some shopping before heading out to the Normanby hotel for Gerrod and Kristy’s farewell bash.

Lifelong dream achieved

Tag Heuer KiriumFor 2 years now, I have been drooling over a Tag Heuer Kirium watch. Each time I pass the Wallace Bishop shop where it has been kept captive for far too long, I shed a tear for him and resolve to find a way to free the poor thing.

Last night, Gerrod rang me from Bangkok with some good news. He has secured me a rip-off version of this $4000 dollar watch. It cost me $85 and Gerrod assures me that it appears to be quality.

Apparently he got the shop assistant chick to prove that it was scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass by getting her to hack at it with a screw driver. It survived without a single scratch on it.

Ben is a happy boy. I love watches. If I had millions of dollars I would buy a new watch every day.

The Practice ends

Tonight sees the end of one of my favourite tv shows – The Practice. I’ve been a devoted viewer of The Practice since it debuted on Australian television screens many years ago.

David E. Kelly, the shows creator and head writer has created many of my favourite tv shows including :-

  • Picket Fences
  • Boston Public
  • Ally McBeal

David E. Kelly has a wonderful imagination and manages to balance fanciful characters with unrealistic lives while providing serious social comment in each episode.

It is his quirk, that makes it work. I look forward to his next show.
