Babies everywhere …

I know it’s been a long time coming but here are the details of two very cute babies who were born the last 6 weeks or so.

Jenna KateOur friends Angela and Rick gave birth to a very beautiful baby girl. Jenna Kate was born 22 March at midday and she weighed 3.65kg (8 pounds 1 ounce).

Almost a month later and our friends Lauren and Anthony welcomed Samuel Joseph. Sam was born on 19 April at 00:22am and he weighed 4.18kg (9 pounds 3 ounces).

Sam JosephFrom all accounts both babies are doing really well. Jenna Kate apparently doesn’t cry and sleeps a good eight hours at night. How lucky for Ang and Rick.

Sam is the 2nd child for Lauren and Anthony and Caileigh has taken to her little brother. Apparently she likes the role of being the big sister.

Joining the public library

For the first time in about 15 years I have become a member of a public library.

I don’t know how the public libraries over in Australia fare these days but over here you can borrow the latest CDs and DVDs as well as use the internet for up to 1 hour per day free.

And to top it all off, they have an amazing collection of books – both fiction and non-fiction. Who would have thought ;)

Mel in Manchester

Last weekend Michelle and I decided to be adventurous and take a Megabus.com bus ride up to Manchester to visit Melanie.

The bus was timely and we arrived in Manchester around 3pm Friday and checked out the city center while we waited for Mel to finish work. She then met us at Piccadilly Gardens before we headed straight for Mr Tom’s Chophouse for a pint or 6.

We had a great night meeting some of Mel’s old work mates. The next morning we awoke after a lie-in and headed down to Chorlton for what Mel promised was a terrific hot chocolate. I after to admit that Mel was spot on. Not too sweet – just right.

It was then off into town where Mel showed us the Manchester sites (or lack thereof), before we headed to this really cool pub/cafe called Moon.

We had a great time up in Manchester and it was super cool to meet Mel’s man, Ben. He’s a very funny and friendly guy.
