Morning Tea On A London Terrace

Michelle and Lucy

Our friend Lucy has been holidaying through Europe for the last 4 weeks and was back in London this weekend before jetting off to New York tomorrow. Lucy had us around to her place in West Kensington for coffee, scones and jam donuts.

Lucy showed us photos from her adventures abroad and I am now deadly keen on visiting Croatia. It looks absolutely amazing.

Travel is a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to hear about Lucy’s adventures in NY next week.

Practical joke that went wrong

Next time you go to play a practical joke on someone over the phone make sure you have enough credit to finish the call.

I rang the Steel’s this morning and pretended to be an angry neighbour accusing them of kicking my dog and then the phone cut out. It took us a good 10 minutes or so to get back in contact with them and let them know it was me being an idiot.

D’oh.

Out to the Cotswolds

Michael and Robyn in the Rollright Kingsman circle

Michael and Robyn had us over for a sleepover in Kingston Saturday night. We had yummy pizza, lots of laughs and then watched a sad movie. It was then to bed so we could get up early and take a day trip out to the Cotswolds.

The Cotswolds is an area about 2-3 hours drive north-west of London. It’s known for its beautiful little towns, winding roads and wonderful scenery. It has been on my list of things to do for a while and Michael and Robyn promised me the best clotted cream scones and tea I would ever try. I couldn’t resist.

The Cotswold pub where we ate a wonderful lunch

It is always great to get in a car and head out of London. We had so much fun on the drive just mucking around. A constant source of entertainment was the story telling of embarrasing moments had with our not-so-immediate family members.

I must say that the Cotswolds scenery was great. Beautiful greenery, lots of old small towns and plenty of old people with walking sticks hobbling around. It kind of reminded me a little bit of our trip to Yorkshire at Easter.

The Lower Slaughter Mill

Although we travelled a long way for one day it was well worth it. It feels so good to get out and about on weekends after a week of work.
