A guy walks into a bar and asks for a double entrede.
So the barman gives him one.

We Made It
Filed under: Adventuring OverseasAfter a month of hassels looking and negotiating a new place to live, Michelle and I finally moved into our one bedroom loft apartment in Chiswick last night.
Last Saturday, we enlisted the help of our friends Michael and Robyn, and we loaded up their car for two trips up to Shepherd’s Bush where we dumped our stuff and ourselves for a few days until the contracts could be signed for our new place. That move was pretty painless and we enjoyed some Nando’s for lunch afterwards.
Not to be outdone, our friends John and Kirstin put their hand up last night to help us move from Shebu to Chiswick. I have to say that John stepped up and managed to load all our stuff into his car in one go. That’s 3 large 30kg+ suitcases, two hiking backpacks, 3 normal backpacks, a desktop computer, bedding, assorted bags of craps, me and a pedestal fan. Very impressive.
It’s exhausting work moving all that stuff but the payoff for last night was? Yep that ‘s right. Dinner at Nando’s.
After Nando’s we unpacked everything and hunkered in for our first night in at our very first place together (sans flatmate). It was a cold one too. We’re getting down to -5 degrees at night and it was -1 degrees at 8am this morning. That’s cold.
Thanks heaps to everyone offering their support and kind words over the last month.
Mylo Concert – You Need A Chocolate Milk Energy Drink
Filed under: Adventuring OverseasAfter catching up with Karl, Caroline, and Nathan in Chinatown for a bite to eat, Michelle, Pat and myself headed down to the famous Brixton Academy to see Mylo in concert.
When we arrived we realized that Mylo himself wouldn’t be coming on stage until 12:30am. Michelle was tired and not really up for a big night, so she sold her ticket to a scalper and went home. Pat and I soldiered on stopping by a pub for a few pre-show drinks.
We headed into the academy about 11pm and made our way into the main hall. It was pretty impressive. Hard to describe but not like anything I’ve seen before. We made our way through the crowd to down near the stage. We enjoyed jumping along to the many tunes that the support DJ’s played.
It is hear that I have to say I agree whole heartedly with JET in saying that DJ’s are imposters.
“I wanna move but I don’t feel right, Cause you’ve been playing other people’s songs all night… well I know that you think you’re the star, a pill popping jukebox is all that you are”
Couldn’t have put it better myself. And oh my god, how many times did I get approached by drug dudes. Too many.
That said, the music the DJ’s played was great to listen to (albeit not their own).
Mylo finally came on stage about 1am. The stage lit up and so did the crowd. A great atmosphere. I only hung around for about 40 minutes after that before I thought it prudent to try and catch a nightbus home before the other 5000 people at the concert all tried the same thing.
I managed to make my way to my new temporary residence in Shepherd’s Bush with relative ease.
All in all a great night. I just have to prepare better for the trip home next time.
Bar Italia
Filed under: Uncategorized | Tagged: The "He Who Knows" challengeLocated in Soho (near Amato) Bar Italia offers a small shop crowded with cigarette smoking yuppies. You have to fight you way in, and wait in line to order your coffee. Pat, Nathan, Michelle and myself managed to order our beverages before struggling to find some “standing” space to drink them.
Standing up holding a saucer and glass, while uncomfortable was definitely an experience. An experience I won’t be rushing back to enjoy again. It could have been a completely different experience if we could have secured a table out on the street front where we could have relaxed and did some people watching. But alas, we didn’t so I am not rating Bar Italia at all.
Oh! How was the coffee? It was great.
Moving Out
Filed under: Adventuring OverseasIn the words of a great entertainer – “I’m moving out’. Our lease is up in Putney and it’s time for Chelle’s and I to move into our own place. Herein lies the problem, we still haven’t finalized a place for us to move in to yet :)
Our wonderful friend Laura is off travelling the Amazon jungle the next couple of weeks so she has kindly offered her place for us to stay in the interim.
So for those of you thinking of sending us more mail or giving us a call on our home phone number (*cough* *hint*) please wait until we have a new permanent address. Hopefully by the end of next week sometime.
PS> Does anyone know who “the entertainer” I am talking about is?
