After about 40 hours worth of conversion work, I finally managed to move my blog over from its previous software package to WordPress.

Its new features include:-

  • Filing an article under multiple categories
  • Email a story to a friend
  • Print an article in a printable format
  • New comment format (no-popup window)
  • Subscribe for email notifications on new article comments - Update: Jan 31st
  • Live preview of article comments – Update: Feb 1st

It is bound to have some UI glitches and maybe some other bugs.

Expect to see it fine tuned in the coming weeks but in the meantime I hope you enjoy the new stickfly.com.

Happy Stralyan Day!

Last night a bunch of us formed a splinter group and broke away from the mainstream aussie London pack who head to one of the Walkabouts every year on Australia Day. I just couldn’t bear the thought of lining up outside in negative degree temperatures, just so I could wait in line for another 2 hours to buy a snakebite.

So it was off to O’Neills at Earl’s Court for a few quiet ones before heading across the road for a great burger and fries. While we didn’t get to have a bbq, listen to the JJJ Hottest 100 or experience painful heat I think we all had a great night hanging out with our fellow countrymen.

We Could Be Heroes – For Just One Day

Filed under: Uncategorized | Tagged:

Tonight Michelle and I enjoyed an evening of relaxation, deciding to forgo any tasks that need doing to watch all 6 episodes of the Australian TV series – We Could Be Heroes.

It’s this ridiculous show that follows the lives of five “Australian of the Year” nominees – all from different states – as they lead up to the big day where they learn whether or not they will be put forward for the main event.

Ricky Wong

Each nominee is played by the same actor – Chris Lilley – and he does an excellent job of impersonating five different Aussie personalities. Two characterizations really stood out for me, that of Ricky Wong, a Chinese Ph.D student and Nathan from Dunt in South Australia – and shit.

I know all you Aussies probably watched this last year sometime and are rolling your eyes at me for being late to the game, but man, I thought it was great to see a show that reminded me of being back home – especially as Australia Day is only 2 days away.

Ipod Nano Case

nano-case

After searching for months for the perfect ipod nano cover I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy these hard-plastic see-thru covers.

I’m very pleased with how well easy they are to put on and with the slimness so as not to bulk up the nano.

Mind you, red? As if you would. The clear and black ones rock though.
