Keen for a fix of live Aussie music, a few of us headed into Kings Cross last night to see Bob Evans play to a tiny audience, mainly Aussies I’m guessing. Fortunately the venue was tiny so it didn’t matter that there wasn’t a huge crowd. He only did a half hour set, and being a little late we only caught the final 15 minutes of it. Still a good night though and I got to check out some new areas of London.
This afternoon I finally managed to talk Ben into seeing Brokeback Mountain with me. I’d heard some excellent reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. I found it fairly moving and was impressed with the performances, particularly Heath Ledger’s. I was skeptical when I heard he was up for an Oscar, but having seen the movie I think the nomination was well deserved.
The movie is so gay.
