Happy one year anniversary … to us …

Today, one year ago, Michelle and I jumped off the red-eye from NY and arrived into the unknown that would become our home for the last year.

As regular readers would know, we’ve had an absolutely awesome time over here. We’ve made great friends, travelled lots and found ourselves great jobs and places to live.

When we arrived last year we were a bit apprehensive about what laid ahead. We dossed at our mates Jaimee’s for a month and took almost 6 weeks before we found jobs and a place of our own. Since then, we feel like we’ve fully adjusted to living here. It’s like living in Brisbane but colder, closer to Europe and minus a few great friends and family.

Anyways, enough of the rant. Here’s what it looked like last year on our first day.

One Year On

Michelle woke up to her mobile phone alarm this morning as usual, but in her waking state wasn’t quite with it and promptly placed her phone back on the bedside chest into a glass full of water.

The phone underwent emergency treatment immediately. It was pulled apart and the cool air from a hairdryer was blown into it. We patiently await to see if the screen foginess will disappear.

Getsome at Branksome

Why the odd title? That was the name of Dave’s party on Saturday night at his place in Brixton. He lives on Branksome Road, and the object of the evening was, very classily, ‘to get some’! Everyone invited to the party had to bring along a single friend, and the rest of us were there to watch the magic happen.

A few phone numbers changed hands and there were a couple of potential get togethers, but mainly it was just a great, fun night with lots of laughs.

Thanks for a top night Dave and we’re sorry to leave you such a mammoth clean up job the next day.

Michael @ Zizzi's

Our great friend Michael celebrated his 30th Birthday at Zizzi’s in Richmond on Friday night.

It was an awesome night and we finally got to meet the characters (that are their friends) that we hear crazy stories about all the time. I wonder if their friends were thinking the same thing about us.

Michael’s actual birthday was on Sunday and Robyn was taking him out Skydiving. How exciting. I can’t wait to hear how it went.

Happy Birthday Old Man.
