Easter Bunnies

The annual egg dropping rabbit bypassed us this year but in its place we had a visit from two of our other favourite furry animals – Ray and Maree – Michelle’s parents.

At first I was confused when we met them at the airport as I thought that Maree had shacked up with John Locke from Lost. They spent hours trying to convince me that it was Chelle’s dad but I’m not sure yet. I need to see if John is still on the island in this weeks episode before I’m convinced it is actually Ray.

Now for an old (and odd) lot these two troopers sure know how to put us young whipper snappers to shame. After 36 hours in transit, they were keen to head out and we made our way up to Camden Markets for a look-see and then a trip along the canals to Little Venice. Impressive!

The next day, we made our way to Kew Gardens for a lovely picnic and wander through this awesome park land.

They left us this morning for a week long journey around England before we meet up again with them next weekend.

I love visitors.

Spain Part Two – Catalonia

Kirsty: The next part of our trip begins in Barcelona. Situated on the northeast coastline of Spain, Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. Even a different language is spoken in this neck of the woods – Catalan. As soon as we arrived in Barcelona I fell in love. It has just the right mix of cosmopolitan lifestyle and architectural beauty.

Ben: They spoke a different language? They still seemed to understand “La cuenta por favor”. Greedy bastards!

Ben: Barcelona definitely does have a spark about it though! One of those super cities that you just fall in love with instantly.

Gerrod: Couldn’t agree more, I could definitely live in Barcelona! What a buzz!

[Kanush] it’s funny, when I tell someone I’m an insomniac they almost always say “that’s odd, I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow” which is odd becuase I don’t go around telling blind people “that’s odd because I can see perfectly”

A slice of heaven

A short 20 minute trip south west and we exit the big smoke and enter a peaceful, natural world of countryside filled with animals, fresh air, blue skies and plenty of trees and water.

Richmond park is an amazing area located right bam smack in the middle of London city and attracts a whole heap of its residents on the weekend who like to kick a ball, enjoy a walk, or endure some exercise.

Visiting the park has been high on my todo list since we arrived, so on Sunday we met up with Jaimee and Damian and embarked on a nice long walk across the park. A highlight was walking past a herd of deer.

We’ll definitely be back to hire some bicycles and go for a ride and picnic as the summer sets in.
