One of the first things my wonderful wife tasked herself with after arriving back in Australia was to change her family name over to Priebe.

While it must always be difficult to leave behind a name that has defined one’s self for their whole life, I feel a great sense of pride in knowing that by bonding in marriage and now with a common surname we have started a new family together.

Here’s to you Mrs Priebe.

I was just hacking my iphone when I noticed the time on it was 13:37 and I thought to myself – “yes, yes this is”.

You know you’ve been out of the country for too long when you go to pick up a carton of eggs from woolies and nearly pass out when you see a price tag of $9.

Granted that was the price for the organic free range eggs but hey, still a bit of a shock. It’s not like they were encased in gold.

It had to happen eventually… 6 days after landing back in Brisbane we found ourselves at Chermside shopping centre.

To our credit, we didn’t check out any of the new section, only visiting MBF, Medicare, RACQ and the sushi deli. Gotta love sushi rolls. $1.90 p/roll now for those who’ve been outta the sushi scene in brizzie for a while.

I wonder how long it will be before we frequent the behemoth that is Chermside Shopping Centre?
