Lenoxx EX1018 ShredderAfter spending a few hours the other day going through 10 years worth of documents from our filing cabinet I finally got fed up with scissoring all our sensitive documents ready for the trash. It was off to the store to purchase a shredder.

Not only did I get a kick ass shredder that munches through anything I also finally decided on a multi function printer. I say finally as there are about 491 different types of printers out there, and they all appear to do the same thing. It’s so hard trying to figure out which one is the right one. In the end I went for online reviews and went with a brand I trust.

Canon Pixma MX850 all-in-one multi function printerI got a Canon Pixma MX850 all-in-one copier, scanner, fax and printer. It does duplex scanning and printing and has a document loader just like the cool printers in a real workplace office.

So if anyone needs any office like chores done in the Aspley area then we’re open for business.

Wii should have bought a Nintendo

MarioIt’s been a busy but enjoyable few weeks spending every day running around organizing our big move. We’ve been buying furniture, moving our left overs from our parents’ houses, organising tradesmen and rummaging through our wedding presents for the first time. It’s kept us busy and excited.

One of the “furniture” purchases I made was a nice, shiny new LCD TV which came with a free PS3. Naturally, I had to pull it out of the box and “test” that it was working. After about 20 hours or so, I concluded that it should be right for the move into our new house.

All the hard work we have put into the move culminated in spending a relaxed Saturday evening polishing off some fish n chips and beers with our great mates Lou & Steve. After they left Michelle and I retired for our first night in Casa del Priebe.

All the food and beer we consumed was knocking on the back door, so not one to be impolite, I rushed off to let them out.

The Aussie fish n chips must have something on the English ones as I managed to rock the toilet base right out of the floor. A bit of jiggle here and there and it was back in place and ready for a flush – or so I thought.

The flushing unit’s connecting pipe had been dislodged. About 13 litres of clean flushing goodness came flying out and started flooding our bathroom and hallway. Thankfully there were none of the aforementioned fish swimming in the outgoings.

While the PS3 is a fine addition to our home, I can’t help but think that if we had a Nintendo, then Mario and Luigi would have been on hand to help us out with our plumbing woes.
