So much but so little

Filed under: At home in Australia

We have ridden a whirlwind of emotions and activities over the last few weeks. While we managed to do an awful lot it’s somehow hard to put to paper what we did actually do. But as they say on Biggest Loser – No Excuses.

Michelle and I hosted a board games night over at ours two Saturdays ago inviting a variety of friends from all walks of life. It was a great evening with Team BaM coming out on top.

My sister, Leisa, came down from Katherine for the school holiday easter break. She spent the first few days hanging with us before embarking on the mammoth task of moving into her very first home up in Toowoomba.

Easter Friday we had dinner with Tony/Jen and the Johnsen’s at their place in Bunya. Cathy made an awesome cheesecake just for me ;)

Then Saturday we drove up to spend Easter with the Priebe family in Leisa’s new home. It was awesome couple of days. The house is massive and really comfortable. The living area, kitchen and lounge areas are just so damn inviting and we spent most of our time hanging there – minus the time we chased little Jet — our nephew — around the yard for the easter egg hunt.

Then last week we managed to get in some quality and quantity time in with our visiting UK friend, David. We got to meet his boyfriend Pedro for the first time and we must say he is a real find. It’s great to watch the two hang out, they are a great pair.

Tuesday night we had dinner/drinks @ the boardwalk. Friday, we had a bbq at Dave’s mums house and caught up with some old friends we haven’t seen for a while. Then yesterday, we celebrated a few 30ths starting with bowls at Newmarket for Melina and Andrews joint 30th and then heading over to Brisbane’s best pub – The Fox – at South Brisbane.

Today we had to catch up on chores and start removing the excessive chocolate tax from our systems. I started with 60km ride before hitting the yard to weed, whipper snip, cut grass and trim hedges. We took a break around 2pm to wash the car and then head over to our mates Lou and Steve’s for afternoon tea.

That brings us to now. And in about now + 1 hour we’ll be entertaining Michael and Robyn enjoying a 3 course meal that I’m really, really looking forward to.
